Battling the Providers

For the last several days, my internet keeps cutting out and driving me batty.

Which is why I should be working more on my writing, which was my plan tonight.. Until I had my wonderful migraine=anxiety attack.

So, I'm currently working on 4 stories right now.

Editing my Charming Line stories...
Working on a short piece for an anthology, Meri's Story
Building my Mythological Creatures story
And part 2 of the Beginning, either The Fall or The End [once I figure out which one I wanna do.]

I've got a list of things to so this week, on six days. It won't be easy, and I'm kinda already behind already... But, I'm also home bound most of the week.

Busy Week of Work

My boss is gonna work me hard this week.

Jerk.

Anywho, today I'm picking up the new photos on models from my last two shoots. Then I'll be cleaning up at home, and updating listings.

Then Tuesday and Wednesday, I'm gonna be taking photos of all the pieces I need to get photos of. I plan on including my latests pieces, rings... And belts.

Thursday is an early day... I'll be taking my dad to work, then picking my brother up from the air port. :P have to be up way to early that day.

Friday has a hair appt and gaming.  No clue what we're doing this Saturday, but I'm hoping we can visit my BFF and Nephew, since I'm the only family member to have seen Theo.

All in all, it should be a nice week, if busy. I need to finish editing Gwen Edur's story, which I'm gonna try and do this week... Along with everything else.

See, my boss is a jerk.

January is about...

Balance!!!

Yeah... I know, August was about balance, but I sense this is gonna be needed every few months.  November and December tossed me for a loop.

So, this month is about getting some kinda temp/part time work to bring in money, continuing to make jewelry, list them and all that, AND push through on edits.

Not to mention, posting daily for blogs.

I hope you'll take part in this adventure with me.

2015 Resolutions

So, I figured I'd post my 2015 Resolutions here.

They say that making it loud and vocal helps you out.  So, here's mine.

• Clean up my office/living room enough to make better use of it.
• Clear out the junk
• Organize the remaining junk
• Place for a chair to sit on when relaxing
• Clear a place for a table, chair, and cat condo
• Editing stories for publication.
• By June/July have 'The Charming Line's first 3-5 stories ready for publication, so I can roll them out monthly.
• Work on short stories for Far Horizons magazine
• Start work on the Women's Archetype anthology
• Have a solid $100 in the business account
• Have a solid $100 in the personal account
• Have over 600 pieces of jewelry in my inventory.
• Have as many of them listed in Etsy as I can
• Close the 'other' stores
• Do 2-4 shows
• Lose 25-50 lbs

And there ya have it.  Nothing's too over the top, everything is doable by the end of the year.  So.... Its out in the world, and I'll be placing it in more than one spot too.

Lack of...

Inspiration.

I've been working on editing one of my stories, but its been a hard struggle to get through.  While I enjoy the story, and I'm working on putting it together as a serial...

So far, I've been cutting tons of words left and right.  2.5 pages sliced down to just over a page.  Wordy is normal for NaNoWriMo, since your goal is to build up 50k in words in those lovely thirty days.

On the plus side, I am enjoying the stories again and I can't wait to start releasing them.  My goal is to have them out by July, or at least the first one.

Sure, I've said that before... But I'm going to keep saying it, because it keeps me remembering that goal.

One heck of a day

Today started out pretty nice.

I was doing ok in a few silly games I play, had vintage detective shows to listen too, and several orders for the store.

All in all, I was going to take the day off.  Got a bit tired, so I went to take a short nap. Back in my work room, I decided to clean it up more.  Opened my laptop and... Nothing.  It had just stopped working.  Forced restart gave me the 'Question-mark Folder of Doom', as its called.

What does this mean?  Most likely that my lappy's HD is toast.  Not joking here, I've been kinda bummed for the last few hours.

Tomorrow, I'm visiting the Genius Bar to take it in, but let me tell you... I'm all 'uuuuuugh' about it.  Sure, I've got a back up... and almost everything of importance is in the cloud, but that doesn't stop me from mentally freaking out over what this might mean.

At least I've had some good sales today, plus my windfall.  And I printed out my stories, so I can edit them this week with less to distract me [aka, FaceBook].  But, its my baby and I hate having to give her up.

I'll know a bit more tomorrow.  I hope.

For now, everyting will be done on the iPad.  Saving grace, I've got two backups.  The 17" Dell, and the iPad.

And this is why, kiddies, I hate to give up my backup.  Whenever I update a computer, I always keep the previous one around.  This amounts to me selling off the one before the last one.  Sure, may not get as much money, but at least I'm not screwed if something unthinkable happens.

Sleepy, Tired Me

This morning I took my dad into work [his car hadn't started on Wednesday] and while I was there, printed out pretty much all of my stories.  Missed a few, but that's ok.

Went to the write in, last one for me, and started editing my Charming Lines story.  I plan on going through a double edit, before getting beta's to check things over.  Hopefully by June or July, I'll have book 1 ready to go, with book 2 ready to go in a month.  Its a serial set, so helpful to be about a month out in work.  That's my goal at least.

When I got home, there was a surprise waiting for me.  Its a blessing, if it turns out to be real.  Could mean a chance to try and be a vendor at WorldCon next summer.  Also pay back my dad AND maybe get a new cell phone at the end of the month... Along with Christmas gifts.

It all made me antsy and so I've been cleaning up.  Not an easy task, since the room sucks for it sometimes.  Oh well, I'll figure it all out.
