One of those days....

Yesterday was a mixture of 'argh' and 'blargh'.

First, I'm gonna give you the 'rundown' of my morning.  Once it got started.

I went to the bank first, had to do something else.. Arrived 20 min early.. >.> Went to the store, bought a donut, choco milk and water… ate the donut, then did bank things… Then I headed downtown to the apple store. Arrive 20 min before THEY open, go to Starbucks and get a Chai… Wait a bit, head over to the Apple Store. Walk in 'Do you know what you want?' 'Yes, Gold, 64gb, iPhone 6'... Didn’t know one of the passwords, we tried all our normal ones.. Nothing… Nothing.. No one knows anything… Dad’s driving… argh. Went into the mall, and up to the Verizon store… Gave him infos, he checked ID.. 'Oh, I can give you the password, I’ve verified your ID'. >.> 'Ok. Do you have the phone in stock?' 'Sadly, no.'  Back down to the Apple store, with password in hand.. Get new phone.

Frustrating, sure. Worth it? I like my phone, and I pretend I managed to walk my donut off.

I get home, play around with the new phone, backup the old phone... Struggle with getting everything in the new one from the old one. Oh, and I list the old one on ebay.  :D

Then, I gather things up for my show. I arrive 30 min 'late' to set up, the good table is gone. [they only have 4 working 8ft tables. :P at them.]

I say 'I'd rather not be next to another jewelry maker.' and get told 'Well, suck it up and deal, you can't always pick.' >.>  Yeah, you can. The one in charge, can try and work things out so you don't have two people who do the same thing, sitting next to each other.  :P

Once I'm set up, I change and settle in. Have a few interesting people stop by, enjoy a few chats. One lady reads my palm, tells me I'm intuitive and good at communication.  I doubt her, as I'm not sure that's how I work. But, what do I know. Another lady loves 'this and this... only without that and this, only longer and OH thooooooose, only I have a pair at home similar.'

After holding a pair back and everything, I'm not sure she buys anything and leaves.  ~shrugs~ she has my car. I'll hope, but not hold my breath.

When I reach the end of the night, I've had 2.5 sales [one customer, a regular, made two purchases.] and haven't made out too badly, for just giving up time for the event.

Now, we're packing up. I'm almost finished. The lady in charge asks one person 'You need any help out? How were things? I loved so many of your pieces, but I'm trying to watch my spending. We'll try and do another one in November, when people are looking to shop.' Asks another lady the same thing, gives her the same spiel. Asks a third seller that, changing out 'I loved so many of YOUR pieces' to 'I loves so many of Person A and Person B's pieces'.

What am I doing? Packing up.

I'm finished, have it all on the tables. Do I get asked 'Do you need any help out?' Nope. Do I get to hear 'I loved so many of your pieces.' Nope. I get nothing. I just get to carry it all out on my own in three trips, then go home.

Normally, we do two a year... I think I'll skip the next one. This one left me very 'blah' at the end.

One heck of a day

Today started out pretty nice.

I was doing ok in a few silly games I play, had vintage detective shows to listen too, and several orders for the store.

All in all, I was going to take the day off.  Got a bit tired, so I went to take a short nap. Back in my work room, I decided to clean it up more.  Opened my laptop and... Nothing.  It had just stopped working.  Forced restart gave me the 'Question-mark Folder of Doom', as its called.

What does this mean?  Most likely that my lappy's HD is toast.  Not joking here, I've been kinda bummed for the last few hours.

Tomorrow, I'm visiting the Genius Bar to take it in, but let me tell you... I'm all 'uuuuuugh' about it.  Sure, I've got a back up... and almost everything of importance is in the cloud, but that doesn't stop me from mentally freaking out over what this might mean.

At least I've had some good sales today, plus my windfall.  And I printed out my stories, so I can edit them this week with less to distract me [aka, FaceBook].  But, its my baby and I hate having to give her up.

I'll know a bit more tomorrow.  I hope.

For now, everyting will be done on the iPad.  Saving grace, I've got two backups.  The 17" Dell, and the iPad.

And this is why, kiddies, I hate to give up my backup.  Whenever I update a computer, I always keep the previous one around.  This amounts to me selling off the one before the last one.  Sure, may not get as much money, but at least I'm not screwed if something unthinkable happens.

Day 1 of NaNo...

So, Day 1 of NaNoWriMo

I spent most of the day watching tv, playing games on my iPad or sleeping.  But, I'm sick so that's just fine.

After a marathon of NCIS and Graham Norton with Benedict Cumberbatch and Maroon 5, I finally escaped to my living room/work room and started writing.

First prompt of the day?  'Edged with Blue.'  It started a piece that has time travel, love and tapestries stalking people across time and space.

~shrugs~  Don't ask, it's what came out when I started writing.

Oh, and there are no taco's in the future, which I think is sad.

Here's a snidbit.

A tall woman with piercing grey eyes looked down at the two of them.  Mouth open, Aubrey realizing she must have been well over seven feet tall.
“Let me guess, you’ll take care of her in a world she’s never been in and introduce her to the changes? Going to try and have the producers make taco’s again?”
Grayson shook his head.  “No, I won’t try that again.  But to the rest, its the best option right now.  Its never shown up here, so we might be safe. If nothing else, we’re more prepared for the thing.  Alise, at least give it a shot.”
“We are not prepared for it to show up.  No one is, but we do have more information on how it works than any other time.”  Turning on her heel, Alise strode away.  “Fine, have it your way.  She’s all yours.”
Looking down at her, Grayson smiled.  “Don’t worry Bre, I’m gonna take care of you.  It’ll take a bit, but I promise everything will make sense soon.  First, we should get cleaned up.  Time travel can leave unknown substances on our clothes.”
“Time…Travel?”  She mumbled, eyes rolling back into her head as she sank to the floor.

Life, Lists and How to keep at it...

Sounds like a good title to a book.  Not one I'd know how to write.  Pffft, at this point I am grateful to be alive and have managed to keep... Well, alive.

I make lists, but in two days I've gotten... One item on my list marked off.  That's all, one.

Not sure what happened, but something hit me over the last few days and I have no desire to get out of bed or go any place.  I just want to curl up and sleep.  Which isn't just 'not productive' it scares me a bit.

Yes, I've battled depression, but its never felt this powerful.  And I'm on pills to freaking help, but they only seem to help part of the time.

I'd say my life has been cut into three.. Maybe four ways of being.

Busy, meaning I don't have time to acknowledge that I'm not feeling good.  I run, run, run, run and run some more.  Errands, shows, lots of driving.  I don't mind it, but its a lot and I can't do it constantly.

Productive... Making lists, getting things done.  Photos of new jewelry, words written and/or edited for stories. Heck, jewelry made, tagged, inventoried and listed!  All of those things done, mostly from my little living room at home. I get up, I do those things and I feel better about myself.

Lazy.  This one often shows up for about a week after having been Busy, and can be interspersed with Productive.  I like to claim its the most normal state for me, but its not actually.  I just enjoy it, mostly because I've been working and need a break.

Checked-Out.  The WORST of the times, is when I can't focus and just wanna go to bed.  Its a newer side of things, one I'm not used too.  Busy, Productive and Lazy have been my life for 32ish years.  I'm used to them.  But this sense of 'checked-out', where I have no control over myself and just can't focus, can't work, can't be me... I hate it.  I want it to end and I can't figure out what's brought it on.

I'm willing to admit that it takes time to get used to medications, and that's fine.  And the last few weeks have been kinda weird, as I've taken steps push myself into a better place.  It could just be the fear of having jewelry in NY for a show, all that could entail... And the fear of failing on the trip to Seattle.  Annoyance that despite everything, I can't get myself to constantly walk and try to lose weight, or that my body's healing, but I want it faster than it's happening.

A million little things could be part of why I'm feeling so out of it... But knowing the why, doesn't make it go away.  And I need to figure that part out.

I know I don't have a lot of viewers, and I have some plans to up the posts and move them away from 'ugh, I feel bad' and focus more on my writing and my jewelry, but as I stated... This journal is about Me, and this struggle is apart of me.

Right now, I am a messed up, writing, designing, weirdo.  Someday they may finally move to their own worlds, but for now its all here.

Bad few days...

Not sure what's going on in my head, but this last weekend was filled with gaming on Friday and Saturday, then feeling like crap.  Even yesterday, I barely got anything done and what I did took everything I had.

About the only high points were making dinner work, despite burning myself, and killing a giant spider.  Otherwise, I kept trying and making little progress.

Oh well, today is another day and I'm gonna keep pushing forward.

Sorry the post is so small.  My brains struggling to keep moving, but I wanted to make sure I kept at it.

Be on the look out for a Blog Tour, coming your way.
